More Information About Personalization
 We know you're looking for a gift that stands out among all others. Personalization makes each product unique, which is what makes them so special to give and receive. We hope you enjoy presenting these gifts, as much as we enjoyed creating them for you!

Q. Is there a fee for personalization? 

A. There is a $6.00 fee per order for personalization.

Q. How long will it take to personalize and ship my order? 

A. Most of our personalized gifts ship in 5-7 days.

Q. Will you correct my spelling or change my personalization? 

A. We will personalize your gift exactly as you enter the text. Enter personalization with capital letters, as you would like it to appear. If you want a product personalized with an "s" or " ´s ", please enter it as part of your personalization. (Please refer to the product image for a sample of the personalization font and style.) 
We reserve the right not to reproduce any images, sayings or words, that we deem inappropriate. Once you've entered the personalization information, you will see an online proof of how your order will look.

Q. Can I return a personalized gift? 

A. If your order is not 100% free from defects in materials and workmanship, you may return it in new condition and in its original packaging for a prompt credit, exchange or full refund.

Q. Can I personalize an item in a language other than English? 

A. We are unable to reproduce international characters (characters with accents marks, umlauts, etc.). Please enter only characters that appear on standard American keyboards.

Q. How can I order more than one item with the same personalization? 

A. To order more than one item with the same personalization, change the quantity on the shopping basket page and click on "Update Cart." Items with different personalization must be ordered individually.


More Information About Monogramming
One of the most important decisions in buying a monogrammed gift is selecting the monogram style and order of the initials. Here are a few general guidelines for monogramming to make it easier for you:

Q. How do I know where to place the initials for the monogram? 
A.The traditional monogram is comprised of 3 initials, with the initial of the last name appearing in the center larger than the first two initials.

For a bride and bridegroom: Traditionally, the monogram consists only of the woman's initials, with her new last-name initial in the middle, larger. Of course you could use his and her first initials and their last initial in the middle.

For the Married Couple (or soon to be): The monogram will contain the bride's first initial, the surname of the couple, and the groom's first initial, in that order.

Monogramming gifts for Children: Children often receive monogrammed or personalized gifts when they are born and to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays and christenings. The same monogramming rules apply for children as for adults. Gifts for small children, both boys and girls traditionally follow the first, last, and middle initial order.

When giving a child a personalized item, it is important to consider where and how they will be using it.  You may not want to put too much information on something a child will have in public when they are not in the company of a parent or another adult.  For example, customers will often choose to use a monogram versus a name on something like a backpack.

Q. Don’t want to use traditional monogramming style?
A. As an alternative to the three-letter initial, try a single letter with two dots on each side. It's modern and sleek and can be passed down to other people.

Break the rules: Don't feel you have to use initials. Instead, use a first name or last name. Use all upper or lowercase letters for a different look. Put an address or the name of a house or boat on a cocktail napkin. Embroider towels with their intended use (pool, beach, lake, boat, etc.). Or add the last name to a tote bag–then the whole family can use it.

Q. Where does the monogram go? 
A. Initial Presents will place the monogram in the traditional location for the item you select. If you would like a different monogram location, please call us at 716-565-9595. Due to technical limitations, we may not be able to accommodate all placement requests.

Please see images throughout our site for some ideas per product. We will select the placement that best fits your product unless otherwise indicated.

Q. How should I select the monogram color? 
A. Many people select a color that matches something in the product being embroidered. Others prefer to use a contrasting (but complimentary) color for added emphasis (ex. using red thread on a navy and white tote).

Remember that computer monitors may show colors differently. When you specify the color thread for monogramming, rest assured that we will select the shade that best compliments the item being embroidered.
